Carter works as a mechanical engineer at MIT Lincoln Laboratory in the Rapid Prototyping Group. He started mentoring in 2015 and was a team member when he was a West student from 2006-2010. Carter serves as a programming mentor and focuses on vision processing.

Programming Mentor

Mr Lewin is in his fourth year associated with FIRST, and is the Programming Mentor for Team 501. In his day job, he is a software engineer with BAE Systems programming in Java and working with real-time, embedded systems. "I've enjoyed how working with the students, and have been impressed with how much they can learn in the really short build season."

Build and Engineering Mentor

Adam is an engineering mentor who works at Intellitek. Adam joined our team in 2011 and has helped our team stay focused and organized during build season. Adam is an integral part of planning our robot design and putting the ideas of our team members into action, using CAD to create our robot design.

Isaac is an Engineering Mentor and is a 1998 alum of Manchester High School West and Team 146. He is also a graduate of the Rochester Institute of Technology with a degree in Microelectronic Engineering.

VEX Mentor

Charles works at Dyn and is a VEX mentor at Goffstown High School. In his several years of mentoring, FIRST has taught Charles that people from all walks of life can be interested in designing, building, programming and driving robots. Charles favorite thing about FIRST is the aspect of teamwork.

Jefferson Hall
Mentor Emeritus

Jefferson works at our Platinum Sponsor BURNDY. He was our primary engineering mentor from 2001 to 2011. Team 501 has achieved much success as a result of his patience and dedication to our team. After being nominated by students and mentors from Team 501, Jefferson was selected as the University of New Hampshire’s Young Alumni of the Year in 2008, in part due to his commitment and time invested with Team 501.
